Raw Hair Care Guide
✨ SymBeauté Raw Hair Care Guide
Thank you for choosing authentic raw hair from SymBeauté.
Our extensions are sourced directly from single donors, with no steam processing or chemicals. Because the hair is raw, it must be cared for the same way you care for naturally growing human hair.
Follow the steps below to maintain softness, longevity, and natural beauty for years.
1. Before Installation
✔ Wash Before Install
Raw hair must be cleansed before installation to remove factory dust and prepare the cuticles.
Use:
- Sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo
- Rich hydrating conditioner
Avoid:
- Clarifying shampoos (strips moisture)
- Anything with alcohol or harsh ingredients
✔ Deep Condition for 15–30 Minutes
Raw hair absorbs moisture deeply.
Let conditioner sit before rinsing to soften the cuticle.
✔ Air-Dry or Blow-Dry on Low Heat
High heat before install can cause dryness.
2. During Installation
✔ Do NOT cut the wefts
Cutting wefts increases shedding.
If your stylist must cut them, ask for weft-sealing.
✔ Avoid Tight Thread Tension
Tight sewing can cause excessive shedding and weft damage.
✔ Use a professional stylist
Raw hair looks its best when installed by someone experienced with premium extensions.
3. Washing Routine (Weekly)
✔ Wash once per week
More if wearing in humid or sweaty environments.
Routine:
- Detangle gently from ends → roots
- Rinse with lukewarm water
- Apply moisturizing shampoo
- Rinse thoroughly
- Apply conditioner
- Rinse or leave a little conditioner in for extra softness
- Air-dry for best results
4. Detangling
✔ Detangle gently
(wide-tooth comb or detangling brush)
✔ Detangle ONLY when damp or conditioned
Never detangle raw hair when dry.
✔ Start from the ends and work upward
5. Heat & Styling
✔ Use heat protectant ALWAYS
Raw hair can take heat, but protect it.
Use medium heat
when:
- Curling
- Straightening
- Blow-drying
Avoid:
- Daily high-heat styling
- Excessive flat-ironing
- Alcohol-based styling products
6. Sleeping
Protect your investment while sleeping:
✔ Wear a silk/satin bonnet
✔ OR use a silk pillowcase
✔ Loosely braid or wrap the hair
✔ Avoid sleeping on wet hair
This reduces friction, shedding, and tangling.
7. Swimming & Exercise
If swimming:
- Saturate hair with water + conditioner first
- Tie hair into a braid or bun
- Rinse immediately after swimming
- Deep condition afterward
If working out:
- Sweat can dry the hair
- Wash or co-wash more frequently
8. Coloring Raw Hair
Raw hair can be colored because it’s unprocessed — but only with caution.
✔ Always use a professional colorist
Especially for:
- Bleaching
- Highlights
- Lightening beyond Level 6
Avoid at-home bleaching
It can permanently damage the cuticle.
9. Longevity Care
With proper care, SymBeauté raw hair lasts:
- Bundles: 2–5+ years
- Frontals/Closures: 4–12 months (due to delicate lace)
To extend lifespan:
✔ Rotate installations
✔ Avoid excessive heat
✔ Keep the hair moisturized
✔ Store in the original satin bag when not in use
10. What to Expect with Raw Hair
Because raw hair comes from real donors, natural variations are normal:
- Slight texture differences between bundles
- Frizz during humidity (like natural hair)
- Wave patterns that change after washing
- Hair that requires moisturizing and maintenance
These variations are proof of authenticity — not flaws.
11. Recommended Products
Shampoo/Conditioner:
- Sulfate-free
- Moisturizing
- Silicone-free when possible
Masks:
- Hydrating deep conditioners
- Argan oil masks
- Keratin-free products for Vietnamese hair (too much protein can stiffen)
Oils:
Use sparingly:
- Argan oil
- Light serum
- Anti-frizz mists
Avoid heavy oils and butters (they weigh down raw hair).
